
Ivette is a Registered Psychologist and an Associate member of the APS who has been working with adolescents and their families since 2003. Prior to this she worked specifically with adults as a Psychologist/Generalist Counsellor with the aim of helping them to overcome personal and emotional issues.
Ivette's qualifications include a Masters Degree in Psychology and Psychopathology of Children and Adolescents. She has also been trained as a Personal Counsellor which encourages a holistic approach to counselling the individual.
Ivette uses a psychological approach which recognises the importance of how our thinking patterns impact our behaviour, emotional wellbeing, physical health and our spiritual life. She therefore has a particular focus on therapies that motivate change and can create acceptance and hope.

She has also lead and facilitated groups for overseas students that are in the process of transitioning into mainstream high school in Australia.
Through her work as a Psychologist/Counsellor working in various high schools in Sydney and also at an Intensive English College Ivette has gained valuable experience working with teenagers and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. She has learnt a great deal about other cultures which has also influenced her to become more mindful and sensitive about our individual journeys and how they are also greatly shaped by our culture.
