Gissia Castelnoble - Educational, Child & Adolescent Psychologist

Gissia Castelnoble is an educational and developmental psychologist who provides assessment, intervention and counselling services relevant to the management of developmental and educational issues across the life span. Through her work, Gissia emphasises the importance of working with children, adolescents, parents and schools to overcome any presenting problem. Hence, most of her work with children and adolescents follows resilience building and involves the teaching of specific strategies and the modification of negative attitudes beliefs and behaviours to enhance their quality of life at both home and school.

 

Researcher & Program Developer

Gissia has a background in special education and through her work, as research officer for the Getting Connected program, has gained a sound understanding of the impact of personal, social and school issues on children and adolescents. She is also developing a program for the NSW Parents Council on building better family-school communication. Gissia is also working as Program Developer for Psychmatters, China. Her work currently involves the development of individualized programs (behavioural, social and academic) for students with Autism.

 

 

Workplace Trainer


Gissia's role also involves assessing and training adults with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviours in the workplace. She also provides psychometric and psychological assessments for eligibility of NSW apprenticeships.

 

 

Getting Connected to Learning Coordinator

Gissia is also working as the Getting Connected to Learning Coordinator at Psychmatters. Most of her work involves the co-supervision, with Rose Cantali, of Intern Psychologists from the University of Western Sydney, as well as liasing and networking with schools in NSW.
