Dr. Belinda Pratt - Clinical Psychologist

Belinda Pratt is a Clinical Psychologist who has specialised in working with children, adolescents and their families since 1996. Prior to establishing her own company, Chameleon Clinical Psychology, Belinda worked at the Prince of Wales Hospital Adolescent Service, as well as The Children's Hospital at Westmead and Westmead Hospital’s residential child and adolescent psychiatry unit. She also worked briefly in adult community mental health with St George Hospital. Belinda obtained her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of NSW and then completed doctoral studies with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sydney investigating the assessment of emotional intelligence in high school students and adolescents with autistic spectrum disorder. She has been a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) College of Clinical Psychologists for over 10 years.

Belinda joined PSYCHmatters in Concord in 2010 and offers her Chameleon Kids Clinic on Tuesdays. Her special interests are wide and varied, and include educational and neuropsychological testing, emotional intelligence, emotion coaching for parents, psychosomatic disorders, ADHD, the prevention and treatment of eating disorders, trauma and grief, and diagnostic issues in autistic spectrum disorders. Her preferred treatment approaches are informed by evidence-based practice, and include cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), mindfulness, parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), family therapy, group therapy and biofeedback. She emphasises a warm, playful and accepting atmosphere, infused with creativity and humour, where kids and their families can explore opportunities for learning, growth and change. The smiling “Leon the Chameleon” symbolises all of these qualities.

Please call and arrange an appointment to see Belinda at PSYCHmatters. Her fee for all new assessments, ongoing consultations, phone calls, letters and reports is $190 per hour (+ GST where applicable). Sessions with Belinda will attract a Medicare rebate of $117.65 per session for 6 to 12 sessions if families obtain a GP Mental Health Care Plan (current as at June 2010).
